: a rare usually inherited endocrine disorder that clinically resembles hypoparathyroidism but results from the body's impaired ability to respond to parathyroid hormone rather than from a deficiency of the hormone itself and that is characterized by symptoms similar to hypoparathyroidism as well as by short stature, rounded face, brachydactyly, obesity, and ossification of soft tissue compare pseudopseudohypoparathyroidism
